RAF Lightweight.

Postby GrumpyB formerly FULLTILT » Mon Apr 29, 2013 9:27 pm

Folks - here is something very RARE , a absolutely fantastic photograph of a RAF Blue/Grey L'wt 53 AM 69 (1972) that is obviously brand new. Of interest - note the Blue/grey hood - and it is a FFR type tilt - you can just see the flap & belt webbing , (that would be standardized on a 12 volt).

Note the yellow bridge plate & position , also the Britax long type oblong wing mirrors.

I will not post the pic direct here as Ted Angus probably owns the copywrite and I have not asked permission. Possibly MJC should if he does yet another re-print.

I don't know if you must be signed into HMVF to view ??

Lovely photo thanks for the link, of course there is a B/W photo of sister vehicle 53 AM 75 in the book on page 154. It has exactly the same factory finish and fittings

Yes , defo Ser.3 (checked the MJC book ) , with the HMVF having pics & original talk of S2A tilt colour for RAF - I somehow conned myself

Had forgotten about the RAF B/W pic. on page 154 , this is why I think this particular colour photograph is great. Thinking about it , the quality of photograph clarity (not a snap-shot) , gleaming new L'wt , dress-uniform - I now think it was staged for a profesional photo opportunity :?:
