Hey Folks...I had a chance to hit the mountains again this weekend - freshly equipped with my new sand ladders and brackets. Another great day in the mountains...and only managed to get my Rover stuck once...although she was REALLY stuck...managed to get high centered on two ruts in about 3.5ft of water!

I need to work on the door seals and the seal for the rear stowage bin...lots of water ended up in the cab and in the back. Lots of fun though...we are very lucky to have a great area to hit the trails that is only about 1 hour drive from my home!

In Northern Ireland there are no trails to drive on unless you have special permission

Most of the area that we "roam" is Crown land so it is open and available to everyone...which is both good (and bad). There tends to be a lot of people taking advantage of the trails. Lots of dirt bikes and 4-wheelers competing for the trails. Fortunately there are a few waterholes that keep the bikers out and we can get pretty far back into the woods and escape the crowds, set up camp, have a drink and enjoy the scenery. The trails do get pretty beat up though...guys with the big mud tires on their trucks rut out the trails and make it a much more challenging drive.
We are definitely blessed in Canada with being able to access so much Crown land.
