green laning staffordshire

There is undoubtedly an interest in Green Laning, not surprising really when you consider the vehicles we covet and cherish. This forum is here for discussion of routes, contemporary issues and the social side of things. Anyone not playing nice will have their tyres let down.

Hi sorry I thought I'd replied to this then realised I hadn't!

Right Staffs, depends where in Staffs, not a lot in the South. I don't know these but a quick check found the following:-

Byway West of Penkridge
UCR/ORPA* South of Cannock Chase Country Park
Couple of deadend byways and UCRs around Chasewater and Burntwood
UCR/ORPA North of Wall
Byway S E of Elford
UCR/ORPA South of Hint between Weeford and Tamworth, this one is a ford so will need care and is probably described on www.wetroads.co.uk (Great site for all on Fords!)
UCR/ORPA just North of Austrey not far from Twycross zoo where there is another one.
2 UCR/ORPAs at Wootton
There's a couple of Byways near Leek and Cogelton as well.

When you get North into Staffordshire Moorlands there are a number including long ones near Waterhouses and Wetton.

As I said I don't know the South Staffs tracks at all so be very wary.

* UCR stands for Unadopted County Road now more commonly referred to as an ORPA Other Road with Public Access. (I know it's a County Council/Goverment thing!)
Wading kit/winterised 110 12/24 Ex 59 Independent Marine Commando Royal Engineers and yes it gets used greenlaning as well as at shows. Though not as often as I'd like.
