BOLO: Stolen British Cold War Kit

Postby Redcap » Thu May 12, 2011 2:47 pm

Stolen within the last 24 hours, along with my car:

Full set 58 pattern webbing less bayonet frog and pistol holster
Mess tins (not that important, frankly, they can be had for peanuts)
Folding skeleton bed (1980s issue, replica)
Roll mat, issue (genuine)
Reconditioned 58 pattern sleeping bag
Sleevelets, traffic directing, silver/white
Tabbard, orange/silver, marked "MILITARY POLICE"

Sleevelets and tabbard are in the right ammunition pouch of the webbing.

Items were in the boot of the car; car is a Silver Ford Modeo, V59NGY. also insude the car a two-way amateur radio tranceiver, a dual band (2m & 70cm) Yaesu FT-7800E, with remote mounting kit, radio s/no 6H531885.

To say that I'm exceedingly hacked off is putting it mildly, of course. This has been reported to the Police, and any information should be passed in the first instance to them. Thanks.
Best regards,

Roger

Sorry to hear of the theft of your belongings Redcap, I think its some one you know, that knows you well enough to know it was in your boot, think back to where you was, and who was around at the time when you put it in your boot or who knew of your movements/intentions, such specific gear was deliberately targeted and unlikey to be a random theft.
Good luck and put the boot in if you find 'em first!

unfortunately, no, it's not. We're fairly certain it's a fairly local (within 20 or so miles) bunch of wreck-handling pikies that are well known to the Police; I've been told to steer clear in the mean time, as common sense would dictate, of course. Makes sense; those types aren't exactly the most sociably sensible, responsible or acceptable types, after all ;)

Here's hoping the Met get lucky, anyway; I'm not especially bothered about the car, to be honest, it saved me some grief in getting rid of the damn thing, but losing the kit inside it IS a pain in the backside, and no mistake.
Best regards,

Roger

Sorry mate, I read it as being stolen FROM the boot, not the car and the lot being stolen.
Pikies, makes sense now, the scum of the earth!

Redcap sorry to hear about the theft. We have " scrap metal " collectors around everyday of the week without fail

If you stick the reg number in the dvla webpage ( openely available information ) I have lost count of the wrong numbers or unlicenced vehicles they use - local plod not interested anymore

If its not nailed down round here it vanishes - thankfully they are not keen on dogs !!

yeah, remember the comments you made last time, lol. I think the tabbard might concentrate the attention this time, though.... well, one can live in hope, anyhow ;)
